Wedding Videography

Hi I moved to California but all my friends are in Georgia. They want to give me a shower. How far in advance can they give a shower because I can't make a special trip just for the shower. My fiance and I are both living in Wisconsin, although we are getting married in my hometown in Georgia with a semi formal evening wedding and reception.
