I am getting married next year. My parents are divorced but both contributing equally to the wedding as am I. Can I put my mothers name first (she now has a different surname) and my fathers name second. My mother is dealing with replies. i.e

My future mother in-law wants to place our engagement announcement in her local paper. Is there a set of guidelines to follow?? because she wants to place her son's nameand info first..but all the paperwork indicates the bride's info is to go first?
