Gifts & Registry

My fiance and I are eloping! But unsure of whether or not to do a gift registry for the "reception" party we plan to have once we return home. We are being given a Jack and Jill as opposed to a bridal shower or bachelor party. No one is expected to bring gifts to the Jack and Jill, so when and how would be an appropriate way to get the word out that we have a gift registry?
