1) What is the benefit of the voting?
The voting program has three main benefits:
1) It allows webmasters the opportunity to promote their site in front of our visitors for free on our popular sites listing pages.

2) Participation in the voting entitles you to display our recognizable and respected logo on your site. This gives your site instant respectability among your new visitors.

3) It allows our visitors the ability to discover new sites that they might not otherwise come across in a typical search.

2) How does the voting work?
The listings on the Top Wedding Sites'® list are ranked according to the number of votes that they have received each week from clicks on a link the member has placed on their website. The more unique visitors who click our link...the higher the rank... the more traffic will be sent to the member's site from Top Wedding Sites®. A single visitor can vote only once, all clicks on that banner, from that user, after the first time will not be scored.

4) How are votes scored?
Votes are scored when a new visitor to your site sees and clicks the Team Wedding link. Sites that do not place our link on their sites or do not receive any votes are subject to removal. Please do not click your own link, multiple clicks will be logged. Subsequent votes will not be scored and multiple clicks on your own link might actually lower your rank. Voting links will only score votes from the domain the member specified upon adding his listing. We do not use the typical "voting code" like other "top sites" so the link is just a basic link to our site. Our program scores the votes based on the domain from which the visitor was sent.

5) How often are the vote statistics reset?
We reset the vote and referral counts once a week. This is to give newly added sites a fair chance to rise to the top. Vote counts, viewable on our directory ranking pages, are updated every ten minutes. If all sites have zero votes then we use a history of past statistics to list sites in order of longevity and voting.

6) Are there any rules for the voting?
To make the voting fair and the results useful we have established rules that all participants in the voting must agree to and follow. The rules can be viewed here.

7) How do you prevent cheating?
While we do not know of any Internet voting system that can detect and prevent 100% of those intent on cheating, we have established several measures to minimize it. Furthermore, the more security measures that are put in place, the less convenient it is for members to cheat. We do our best to balance security and convenience within our current system. We use a combination of technologies to enforce our rules, including restricting individuals and computers from voting more than once for any one site.

Those intent on trying to cheat will find it both inconvenient and time consuming. Furthermore, it is easily and automatically spotted, reported & corrected by us and the person and/or site found responsible may be blocked from future voting or have their site deleted without notice.

8) I think a site is cheating. What do I do?
Send an email to the administrator of the site including all information about why you feel a site is cheating. We take cheating attempts seriously. If we determine that an individual or computer has sent in multiple votes for any one site within a 24 hour time period, those votes will be deleted and the account may be suspended or removed at the discretion of the administrator.

9) Why didn’t my vote count?
Our voting system allows one vote per visitor. Reasons why your vote would not be counted:

1) You or someone else who has access to the computer you are voting from has already voted from that computer.

2) You or someone else who has access to the IP address you are voting from has already voted from that IP address.

3) You have cookies turned off in your browser options.

4) You have not placed the voting link on the domain we are linking to. Right click on the page where your voting link resides on your site and be sure that is the same domain you have listed in your account as the website address. For example, the following would not score votes since the page with the voting link (reciprocal link URL) is not on the same domain as the website address:
Website Address: http://www.abcdiscjockey.com
Reciprocal link URL: http://geocities.abcdiscjockey.com
So, you would need to make sure you are placing our link on any page on your domain http://www.abcdiscjockey.com and not on the geocities, or some other domain or in an email or forum.

This: www.abcdiscjockeys.com and www.abcdiscjockeys.com/links.html are both using the same domain.

10) Can I change my account details?
Yes, you can log into your account to update most parts of your account including site title, description, category, URL, or email address. You may not change your user name. All edits are reviewed by the admin. Click Member Login to edit your listing.

11) What if I forgot my password or username?
You can automatically retrieve your username and password by entering your email address in this form. If you enter the email address that you used when you originally signed up (this is case sensitive), your user name and password will be emailed to the address we have on file for your account.

12) Who can join, and what does it cost?
Only commercial wedding related sites may be added (all others will be removed). We reserve the right to reject any site we deem inappropriate. Review our Terms of Service and our Site Rules for more information.

13) Why isn't  my site appearing?
Assuming it was not deleted for a violation of one of our rules, there are only three reasons why a recently added site has not yet appeared on one of our rankings pages.

1) You have not yet added one of our graphics or links to your site.

2) If you did add one, none of your visitors have cast a vote for your site by clicking on it.

3) If you or someone has cast a vote, it has not appeared on one of the rankings pages because the database hasn’t completed its hourly refresh since your vote(s) were recorded or your vote didn't count because you are the site owner or for any of the reasons listed above.

If you know that an hour has passed since a vote has been sent, and you still do not see your site, contact us and we will look into it for you.

14) Why can't I find my site in your directory or search?
If you just signed up, you have to wait approximately 10 minutes before your account is entered into the database automatically. You will need to score at least one vote from the voting link you have placed on your website to appear in the main listing pages of the directory (your link is immediately added to our links pages and will remain there with or without votes unless your listing is deleted or suspended) and have more votes than the site listed in the last position on the last page to be included. STATE, UK and CANADA sites do not use links pages and all active sites are listed on their category page.

Sites must be ranked and appearing on the main directory pages (for USA site only) in order to be found in the search. If your site cannot be found in our search you may not have enough votes this week or you are not searching for a word or phrase that can be found in your title and/or description. 15) Why was my site deleted?
Sites can be deleted without warning for a variety of reasons as outlined in the rules you agreed to when you signed up. Some of the more common reasons include:

- Failure to add our link to your site.
- Inappropriate or forbidden content.
- Inactivity of your account for more than 60 days.
- Attempts to "cheat" voting system.
- Sending of spam in effort to increase votes.
- Unauthorized modification of link.

If your site was deleted and it was not due to one of the reasons above, please email the administrator of the site to find out why.

16) I am having trouble adding the link!
If you have a webmaster, please contact that person and ask them to place the link on your site for you. It is helpful to give your webmaster your login to retrieve the voting links for you.

If you are the webmaster, please consult your web authoring software help files for information regarding addition of html and graphics. We cannot offer technical support for making changes to your website, sorry.

If you use Front Page to edit your site, try pasting the link code into notepad first, and then copy from notepad and paste into the html view of your page.

Because this is a FREE program, we cannot offer technical support for voting link additions or changes you make to your own website. Top Wedding Sites® cannot be responsible for adding a voting link to a member's site. Our tech support team handles issues directly with our website. Our technicians are not authorized to help members make changes to their own website

18) Where Do I get A Link?
If you're already a member you can login at the gray box, top right of any Team Wedding webpage. Be sure you are logging in at the site where you're listed (USA, one of the states, Canada, UK or Ireland). You can also hover your mouse over the link marked Advertiser on the yellow nav bar near the top of the page and then select "get voting code ". Login by entering your user name and password and pressing submit. If you have forgotten your login it can be retrieved at the login screen by entering your email address. 19) What is the Reciprocal Link URL?
This is the page on YOUR site where the Top Wedding Sites® link has been placed. Our spider will go out to this page every 30 days to check for the link so be sure to be accurate, If you move the link please login to edit the reciprocal link URL. Sites using frames should contact their webmaster to get the exact URL that should be listed with us.

Team Wedding, Home of Top Wedding Sites, sells only Gown Preservation Kits and a few choice wedding related books. If you made a purchase please refer to your receipt or invoice and either reply to the email you received or use the contact information provided on your invoice. You may think you ordered from us, when you actually ordered from one of our advertisers.
