With colorful wings fluttering through the air, we couldn’t help but be inspired by spring’s songstresses — birds. Whether you release doves at your ceremony, float hundreds of origami swans overhead or feature full-out feathery centerpieces at your reception, we’re seeing birds take flight as a popular wedding theme among couples. We love the departure from standard floral centerpieces to something more interesting like bird’s nests or cages (many of which are easy DIY projects). I attended a wedding of aviary aficionados who hand-collected abandoned bird’s nests for their centerpieces — and classified them according to species, naming the tables accordingly. It was so well thought-out and whimsical, but, more than anything, a reflection of the couple’s passion for birds.
