No one puts baby in the corner. Or tells her what to do. Rules? What rules? She makes up her own as she goes, and changes her mind as often as she change clothes. She is a woman of many passions: fiercely independent, wildly creative, and tenaciously loyal. Sound familiar? If you’re a free spirit, use these ideas to create a wedding day that is every bit a reflection of your unfettered ways.

Stay true to your tastes with a unique dress: plunging back, long silhouette, boho detailing. And don’t think it has to be completely white, or even white at all. Many boho brides choose metallics or even ombré. Kiss the traditional wedding updo goodbye, leaving your tresses long and choosing an extravagant flower crown. Knowing you, you’ll think outside of the box with decorations such as placeholders and centerpieces: Try pinning place cards into clementines for a charming combination of practicality and simple favor; or use live plants (or terrariums!) as centerpieces with a note for guests to take them home. For the cake, go with a simple white frosting decorated with fresh fruit: whole berries or slices of tropical fruits like peaches or papayas. Finally, for the ultimate unique bouquet, skip flowers completely and ask your florist for greenery only—or gather your own.

“Remember, remember, this is now, and now, and now. Live it, feel it, cling to it. I want to become acutely aware of all I’ve taken for granted.” —Sylvia Plath
