Need Wedding Inspiration? Our List of the Best Wedding Blogs

It is not an exaggeration to say that there are well over a million wedding blogs. In general, they fall into three categories:

  • Brides writing about their own weddings
  • Vendors (photographers, florists, venues) promoting their services
  • Blogs that celebrate, document, and explain all things wedding

The last category is the most popular. Brides (and anyone who loves a wedding!) turn to these blogs on a daily basis to get advice about flowers, dresses, venues, guests – anything and everything wedding related. Many sites also have a “Real Weddings” page where they showcase the work of different wedding photographers, or use wedding pictures submitted from their readers.

If you are looking for wedding ideas, here are some of the best wedding blogs you can follow:

Style Me Pretty

The queen of wedding blogs. Started by Abby Larsen in 2007, the site boasts over 1.5 million visitors a month and 16.5 monthly page views. Larsen’s vision was to have a dynamic wedding portal where readers could see new content on a daily basis instead of waiting for the monthly issue of their favorite bridal magazine. It is a heavenly combination of beautiful wedding pictures and helpful advice. Style Me Pretty gets over 600 wedding picture submissions a month from brides all over the world. If you are looking for help or inspiration in planning your own wedding, this is the place to start.

Ruffled

Ruffled calls itself a wedding blog for stylish brides and creative couples. It showcases a variety of wedding styles from vintage to modern to DIY that can be used as inspiration for planning your own unique celebration. It features a Real Weddings section, a Vendor page, and it even has a Recycle Your Wedding Page where you can sell or buy wedding items such as centerpieces, signs, headpieces and candles.

Green Wedding Shoes

The folks at Green Wedding Shoes are “truly, madly, deeply, head over heels in love with love”. Their mission is to help you plan a wedding that is a reflection of who you are as a couple. Created by married couple Jen and Jason after their own woodland wedding in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, their website will help you find ideas for all types of celebrations from Rustic to City to Bohemian Beach Weddings! Their Real Weddings section showcases gorgeous locations and highlights the personal details that make each wedding special.

Martha Stewart Weddings

For brides who want a wedding that is “beyond the ordinary”, this website, like its magazine counterpart, is the place to go for elegant wedding inspiration. In addition to beautiful wedding photography, you can get information about flowers, favors, cakes, wedding attire, and loads of wedding planning advice for every aspect of your big day.

Rock and Roll Bride

If you are a bride-to-be who is looking for a different kind of inspiration, check out Rock and Roll Bride. This blog was started by Kat Williams in 2007, to inspire “brides and grooms-to-be to plan the wedding that they really want, in a world dictated by tradition and big frou frou dresses.” Rock and Roll Bride was the first wedding blog in the UK and has grown to be one of its largest. In 2011, it was voted Best Wedding Blog by the UK edition of Cosmopolitan magazine. If you are looking for ideas for a punk, mermaid, or woodland fairy wedding, make this your first stop.

As you can see, there are as many types of wedding blogs as there are brides and grooms. We hope that you will check out our own wedding blog and contact us for more information and inspiration! We want to be your number one source for great tips, etiquette information, ideas and articles about weddings and wedding planning.
