1. The Marriage License – Get it and don’t forget it.

You’d think that this aspect of the wedding planning process was unforgettable, but it’s such a small part of the overall process that you’d be surprised how many brides and grooms forget to get it, let alone bring it along with them to the ceremony. Look within your jurisdiction to see the rules, regulations and timeline for when to go and grab the license. Then BRING IT TO THE CEREMONY so your officiant can sign it and, well, make it official for you!<\/p>\n

2. Guests – Remember them.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Too many times couples forget to think about favors or even the guest book! Yes, this day is all about you but it’s also about planning a special day for all of your loved ones to enjoy. If you feel like favors are important to you and all of those family and friends coming to celebrate – then don’t forget to have them ready. And, if you want everyone to sign in and have a piece of guest memories for yourself – figure out what you’d like them to “sign.” Both of these areas are perfect for using a bit of creativity and outside-the-box thinking.<\/p>\n

3. Post-Wedding Transportation – Get some.

Yes, you need a way to get from the reception to the honeymoon suite. Whether it’s a rad getaway car, the limo that dropped you off at the ceremony, your personal rides or a trip up the elevator to the night’s hotel room. Make sure you not only know how you and the groom are getting away from the party – but the bridal party too. Lots of brides spend the night before with their girls (and the groom with their guys) make sure everyone has a way to get home, and get home safely.<\/p>\n

4. The Cake, Flutes & Knife – Who will grab them?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

There are several things you’ll need a buddy to grab and take home with them. You’ll want the top of your wedding cake, the knife you cut your cake with, your champagne flutes, guest book and possibly a host of other nooks and crannies. Whether it’s your mom or your maid of honor, give someone trustworthy the job to get all of these important pieces of the big day and get them home safely.<\/p>\n

Not only should you be sending thank you notes as soon as you get home from the honeymoon, but I feel as though it’s necessary to get up in front of the crowd and thank your loved ones for coming and all those that helped the big day happen.
