Remember that the veil is an essential part of your bridal attire \u2014 not something plonked on your head as an afterthought.<\/p>\n<p>2. Try lots of different styles and lengths of veil in different fabrics to find the one that best complements your outfit.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wpInsert wpInsertInPostAd wpInsertMiddle\"><\/div>\n<p>3. Don\u2019t have a heavily patterned veil with a very ornate dress. One will \u2018fight\u2019 the other.<\/p>\n<p>4. Don\u2019t have a veil that cuts across detail at the back of the dress. Let the veil finish below the decoration. Silk tulle is sheer enough to allow your beading, embroidery or ruching to show through.<\/p>\n<p>6. Are you petite? Don\u2019t have a veil that swamps you, such as a high bouffant veil. It will only make you look smaller.<\/p>\n<p>7. Think of adding color (such as colored embroidery) to your veil, to harmonize with your bridesmaids and\/or bouquet.<\/p>\n<p>8. A veil can transform the simplest dress into a stunning bridal outfit.<\/p>\n<p>9. Don\u2019t forget to take your veil with you when you have your hair trial.<\/p>\n<p>10. If you\u2019re nervous about pressing your veil yourself, ask the store where you bought it if they can steam it a few days before the wedding. You can transport it home covered in a pillowcase or duvet cover, depending on its length.<\/p>\n<p>11. Don\u2019t wear something because you think you should. Don\u2019t make a decision about whether to wear a veil or not until you have tried several on with your dress. A long veil can create a wonderful \u2018aura\u2019 around you.<\/p>\n<p>13. Don\u2019t forget you can have a veil made-to-measure just as you can a dress. You can have the exact length and ornamentation that <em>you <\/em>want.<\/p>\n<p>14.You only wear a veil once, so make the most of it and enjoy it!<\/p>\n<div class=\"author\">Ann Guise has more than two decades of knowledge and experience after graduating in Fashion and Textile Design from University of Westminster, London. Many of her friends asked her to design and make their wedding outfits including their veil, to compliment and be part of their outfit rather than an addition to it. This led her to specialise in designing and making bespoke silk wedding veils. She is probably the only veil designer specialising solely in bespoke silk wedding veils. Ann worked for 14 years as a Costume Designer for BBC TV where she was nominated for a BAFTA Cymru for best Costume Design. She then started her own successful couture Bridal Design Studio and during this time was awarded Fellowship of the Society of Artists and Designers.
