No Custom Alterations<\/strong><\/p>\n Making changes to wedding dresses can get very expensive very quickly. It may not seem like a lot, but each alteration can be $300 per adjustment. The more expensive the gown the more expensive the alterations can get. Find a dress that fits and is perfect and take your time doing it. Finding the right dress reduces the need for alterations and that saves you a lot of money.<\/p>\n Check out Sample Sales & Specials<\/strong><\/p>\n Winter and summer are a great time to save on wedding dresses by checking out sample sales or by looking online at reputable wedding dress companies. Bridal shops are looking to get rid of inventory and may cut prices by more than 70%. These dresses are normally sold “as-is” so factor in some costs for altering them.<\/p>\n Less Fabric equals less expensive (normally)<\/strong><\/p>\n Look for simple silhouette dresses from normally priced designers. While not a sure-fire rule, often you will find that dresses that are simpler and use less fabric costs less. This rule often falls apart when you start looking at top name designers, but for most people it is a good rule to follow.<\/p>\n Say No to Trimmings<\/strong><\/p>\n Choosing a classic gown without embellishments may lower the price tag significantly.
