Many women are waiting until they are in their 30’s and 40’s to get married for the first time and many are choosing veils. I think this is more a matter of personal opinion and how you feel about a veil. Do you think it signified youth or is it just a beautiful accessory? How will the veil be used? If you have doubts about the whole, “father lifting the veil” exercise then leave the blusher veil out.<\/p>\n
It’s funny you should ask this since I just posted a You Tube video on my facebook of an older bride wearing a wedding veil and asking what people thought of it. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any response as of today. Have a look and see what you think. Then try on some veils and see what you think of yourself in a veil.<\/p>\n
Again, I think this is strictly a matter of choice. I’d love to know the conclusion and, of course, if you have a photo you’d like to share to encourage other mature brides, please upload it. <\/p>\n
I agree. For years, the blusher has been off limits to older brides, still is for encore brides. But, what do we call older these days? That answer isn’t quite as clear as it once seemed to be.<\/p>\n
Wear what you feel comfortable wearing. <\/p>\n
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! First, find your dress. Then based upon the style of your gown, you will be able to find a headpiece which will enhance your look. Especially with the fabulous hats and toppers at Kate’s wedding to William, there are ample options from which to choose.
\nDo keep in mind what type of ceremony you will be having. In certain ceremonies, such as for observant Jews, having a veil is a required as the lifting of the veil is an actual part of the proceedings for the day. <\/p>\n
Thanks for the link to the you tube video… I thought the bride looked silly in the big poofy veil!!! If I do decide to get a veil, it will definately not have a blusher and will not be big and poofy like the bride on the video. Perhaps a smaller sleeker veil would be better suited for a older bride. <\/p>\n
The location and time of day need consideration too. <\/p>\n
Our wedding will be outdoors in the afternoon on our property in the country. <\/p>\n
If you want to wear a veil then go for it!<\/p>\n
Try on some veils with your dress and see how you feel wearing one. Choose what works best with your dress. If you can’t find a suitable veil in the shops then consider having one made to compliment your dress.
\nA veil attached at the back under an updo can look very elegant. <\/p>\n
An outdoor wedding is typically informal, so choose a less formal veil – perhaps like the style Ann suggests. The formality is based on the style and length. <\/p>\n
You might also want to consider “Russian Veiling” depending upon whether or not it compliments your dress. You can also wear a longer length of Russian Veiling as Ann suggests. Congratulations!<\/p>\n

Donna: I do not have a photo of veil alone, but here is one made custom, with hat, as requested by client. She had black & white Western wedding! Imagine the Russian Veiling alone, under bun or hair-do on comb, as Ann described (white, or ivory … or a daring color if brides prefer:-).
