My daughter and her fianc\u00e9 picked out the tuxes for their 4:30 p.m. wedding and reception afterward. My husband and I went for his measurements and found out that one of the colors they chose for the vest\/tie clashes with the bridesmaid\u2019s dresses.<\/p>\n
There are 2 colors of bridesmaid\u2019s dresses for the wedding. One is a yellowish green called Honeybee and the other is called Sea Glass and is a lighter aqua. My daughter and her fianc\u00e9 thought it would great to have the groomsmen wear the 2 coordinating colors for the vests\/ties. – 3 in green and 3 in blue. The blue matches, but the green available is a horrible match and obviously my daughter didn\u2019t have a color swatch with her at the time. The woman at the shop suggested to us that maybe instead of the green, those groomsmen could wear silver. Then there would be 3 groomsmen in blue vests\/ties and 3 in silver vests\/ties. The tuxes are black.<\/p>\n
Is this too many colors? Also, I\u2019ve read that the groom\u2019s vest and tie should match the bride. The groom is choosing the blue tie and vest. It\u2019s their wedding and their choice, so I don\u2019t even know how to tell them what matches best. It doesn\u2019t seem that the woman at the tux shop knows what is best. Please offer advice on the proper colors. Thank you! <\/p>\n

I’m not sure about the colors and your daughter and her fiance should choose. But, I can tell you that usually all of the men match. The groom can alter his attire a bit by choosing a different tie or vest, but he should match the others (mostly).<\/p>\n

Thank you for your help. They are all going to match, but just alternate the vest\/tie colors with the groom choosing one of those colors. I realize it’s up to them to decide and it’s hard to watch them choose a color that doesn’t match at all. Hopefully the tux store will guide them further with their choice.<\/p>\n
Perhaps once she sees the colors together, she will choose something a bit more neutral. <\/p>\n
Unfortunately, my daughter’s fiance went to the tux shop and tried on the vest and tie combination and still went with the colors that do not match well with the bridesmaids dresses. Apparently, he didn’t care if they didn’t match exactly and is happy with the colors. They feel that with the tuxes on, the colors won’t be as obvious. I want to cringe at the color combination, but there is nothing I can do. It’s their day and not mine.[:|]<\/p>\n

The colors are such a small element in the scheme of things. As long as everyone is happy and the guests are treated well, it is a success. <\/p>\n
