We are having a huge argument on how to address the wedding invitations going to our guests in Puerto Rico. I want to do Mr. and Mrs (since they are coming from us and we live in the states) however he feels that we need to do Sr and Sra? I always asummed how you address the wedding invitation is how the calligrapher would do the place cards as well. On the place cards however he wants Mr. and Mrs. for all wedding guests from Puerto Rico? What is the correct way to address our wedding invitations, do we do them the same for all guests no matter where they live? Or is there a difference?<\/p>\n<p>Much thanks \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<h1>Donna, Wedding Queen, President; Top Wedding Sites, Inc<\/h1>\n<p>Honestly, I couldn&#8217;t find any real reference to this issue however, logic would have it that you would address your invitations in the language of the recipient. They are the people who must read it so this is what makes the most sense to me. I also think it&#8217;s respectful to use their language especially if they don&#8217;t speak any English. I would also include an invitation printed in Spanish as well. The place cards probably should be written in English as the wedding reception is taking place in the US where English is the language spoken.<\/p>\n<p>Please don&#8217;t have &#8220;huge arguments&#8221; over such trivial issues. Trying to work these things out, having discussions and compromising is good practice for the marriage.
