What to wear 3 pm church wedding

Hi, I am invited to a 3pm church wedding, followed by 5 pm reception at a country club. Assuming that there is not much time between ceremony and reception I have decided to go for a navy blue cocktail dress paired with faux pearl earrings and pearl bracelet.. Please guide me if this would be appropriate attire.

thanks in advance

What a perfectly classic outfit! (And a great addition to your wardrobe!) Since it is a 3:00 wedding, you can add in a bit of intrigue by wearing a hat to the ceremony (but do remove it for the reception as women do not wear hats after 6:00 indoors). Have fun ~

I agree that this look is very appropriate. I also agree with the hat call. Have wonderful time. You’ll certainly be noticed, in a good way!

Agreed. Nice, classic dress that can be dressed up or down with accessories.

I’d consider taking some sort of jacket or pashmina for the ceremony if it is in a church. Some churches have guidelines about showing bare arms and shoulders.

Good call about the cover-up. I agree. Conservative dress is best in church.
