Hawaiian Themed Bridal Shower Menu

Hi! I am having a bridal shower for my friend at the end of Sept. It is Hawaiian themed and I am in need of some ideas for a menu. We are all college students so we are trying to keep the costs low. The shower is also at 4:00 pm. Can someone please help? This is my first bridal shower to host. I have help from all the bridesmaids and we are needing ideas! Thank you!

The bridal shower menu does not have to be elaborate. This event is supposed to be a casual, intimate gathering of close friends and family.

So, setting out a spread of Hawaiin themed foods should be fairly simple and cost effective. Here are some suggestions.

Serves 12
5 c. chunked cooked chicken
2 Tbsp. canola oil
2 Tbsp. orange juice
2 Tbsp. white vinegar

1 (11 oz.) can Mandarin oranges
1 c. toasted slivered almonds
1 1/2 c. mayo (reg or low fat)
Combine chicken, oil, o j, vinegar, salt; let
stand while preparing remaining salad ingredients. Or refrigerate overnight.

I love the recipe!!!

For a bit of fun, you might consider buying a few inexpensive small whole hams (either canned or wrapped from the grocery store) and position on a metal cooking sheet to make it appear like a roast pig. Glaze it with brown sugar and use canned sliced pinapple for eyes, and spiral potato for its tail. You know…..GET creative!!

Have fun!
