The Do’s and Don’ts of Wedding Planning for Grooms

Wedding planning can be tough, so let’s make it as easy on your bride-to-be as possible. If you’re about to get hitched and want to make sure that the wedding goes smoothly, here are the do’s and don’ts of wedding planning for grooms.

The DO’s:

Write your vows

Making sure that your vows are in order well before the wedding will be one less thing that the bride has to worry about. Make sure that your vows are personal and unique to your relationship so she’ll never forget how romantic you are.

Draft and dress your team

Your bride will have an army of bridesmaid to take care of while preparing for the big day. Make sure that you and your all of your groomsmen look sharp and uniform, complete with cufflinks, properly knotted ties, and appropriately sized suits.

Stock the bar and find the band

Get enough drinks and music to keep the party going. The reception is the fun part of the wedding so make sure that you have more than enough liquid courage available as well as an experienced band or DJ that’ll keep people on their feet.

The DON’Ts:

Stress out your bride

She’s put a ton of time and effort into planning a beautiful and memorable day. Don’t add to her stress by forgetting to complete items your wedding to-do list. If she asks for your opinion on something, put some thought into choices. Telling her to pick whatever she wants just adds to her stress and makes you seem uninvolved. Keep your word and do as she asks to ensure a happy wedding day.

Forget to tip your vendors

Tipping is a great way to show your appreciation to the bartenders, waiters, ushers, musicians… etc. Yes, weddings can get expensive but these people put a lot of dedication into making this day special for you and your bride, so treat them accordingly.

Thank the wedding party

The vendors may have dedicated themselves to the wedding day but your wedding party shows commitment from the day that you asked them to participate. Most of them have been great friends and have shown you enough commitment throughout your lives, which is why they’re in your wedding party, to begin with. You should provide gifts for your groomsmen as a “thank you” for being a part of one of the most important days of your life.

Following these do’s and don’ts of wedding planning will help you achieve the best wedding experience for you and your guests. Your bride will love you even more for being the best groom you can be. Enjoy your wedding day and congratulations on starting a new life with the one you love!
