Gift for wedding officiant who is also family

We are having an outdoor wedding and my fiance’s uncle offered to be our officiant, making this our wedding gift! What is an appropriate gift I can give him to show our thanks and appreciation at his generosity? (not only is he performing a service for free, he is also working during an event in which he would have been invited as a guest). I am afraid if we give a gift card, or something monetary, he will be offended. But, I want him to know how much this means to us and how grateful we are that he is doing this.

Thanks!

Gifts should always come from the heart. So, you’re right, a cash gift would be inappropriate. Consider his personality, hobbies, likes and dislikes and make a purchase of something he would not buy for himself. That makes the best gift. One suggestion could be a beautiful frame including the wedding photo of all three of you at the ceremony. Think personal…

I could not have answered this any better. This is very good advice.
