No children available to be flower girl or ring bearer

My fiance and I are having some trouble deciding what to do about children in our wedding. I have a niece who will be 23 months at the time of our wedding and my fiance has a nephew who will be 19 months. From reading other posts I have come to the conclusion that they are too young to be in the wedding.
I have two female cousins, 8 and 10, a male cousin, 14 and my fiance has another nephew age 9. I also have a cousin who has two little girls, ages 2 and 4, whom I only see during the holidays so I would not consider asking them to be in the wedding.
Who should I have as flower girl and ring bearer, because it seems that I don’t have any options right now. I know that I could have the older girls be junior bridesmaids but that doesn’t help solve my other situation. Do I have to have a flower girl and ring bearer that walk down the aisle or could they just be in the pictures?

As we mention in many past posts, the flower girl and ring bearer are optional roles. If you do not have any children who are age appropriate for these roles just leave out the flower girl and ring bearer.

I do agree that the two younger children you mentioned are too young. If you decide to ask these little ones they cannot just be present for pictures sake. Your wedding pictures should reflect all of the events of the day. If they aren’t really going to be in the wedding, what’s the point, right? [;)]
