St. Lucia vs. Aruba for Honeymoon Location?

We are trying to decide where to go. For no REAL reason we always thought about Aruba. Somehow St. Lucia has become part of our choice. What do you recommend? Activities comparison. Prices/cost of living comparison. Etc.

For honeymooners I would recommend St. Lucia over Aruba hands down.

St. Lucia is an island of true beauty, the scenery is lush and some of the resorts are quite unique.

Rendezvous is for couples only. It is a spa retreat if you enjoy relaxing and soaking up good food this is the place.

Le Sport is Rendezvous’ sister property it is adults only, but not couples only. This is the more active of the two properties although it is also a spa resort it has a focus on satisfying the while body, mind and spirit with good food, great spa services, and a host of sports both on land and in the water.

The Jalouise Plantation which was a former HIlton property is quite grand although pricey with so many other splendid resorts on the island.

If you are interested in spending a little less and still having a great vacation Windjammer Landing offers beautiful rooms and a wonderful property.

Anse chastanet (although it allows children) offer a wonderful honeymoon as well. Each room is unique in some way. One room has a tree in the shower. There is another room that has a tree growing in the middle of it. When building this resort they decided to build around nature so some room have boulders that are in the walls that were so large they decided not to move them. They have a great spa and the food here is really good.

Ladera. This is a very grand resort. Each room only has three walls as the 4th wall is a open balcony. Most room have a plunge pool. The resort is on top of a hill and the views here are beyond description. There was a movie filmed here, I think it was called The Thomas Crown Affair.

Sandals loves this little island so much they have three resorts. Sandals Halcyon gives you the luxury of the chain without the steepest of costs. Sandals Grande is the nicest of the three offering incredible room and views some The Bluss Suites here are SPECTACULAR.

The town of Castries is not far from the resort area and on Friday night they have a street festival where the locals put on native costumes. Save the appetite for the food at the festival you will see it and want to eat everything.

Aruba is a very pretty island, but I think if you are choosing between the two it can’t compare. The best thing they have is a nice Marriot and a great jazz festival held in October.
