This timeline is based on a four-hour wedding reception block:

7:30 p.m. – Beginning of the reception

Announcement of parents, wedding party

Announcement of couple

First dance of wedding couple (some couples wait to do this after dinner)

7:45 p.m. – Dinner served

8:15 p.m. – Toasts made

8:30 p.m. – Father/Bride, Mother/Groom dance
