Ah, the wedding gift envelope. Plenty of people wonder what the heck to write on this envelope, and may start to panic over whether they need to take calligraphy classes. I am attending the wedding of a close friend extremely soon, and am stuck on what to write on the gift envelope. Please help me! I am not exactly proficient in wedding gift envelope writing.

Write something from the heart. Period. It can be tear-jerking, laugh-inducing, or something in between. As long as your words are genuine, you’re in good shape. Take some time to think about what the couple likes and will find amusing/heartfelt/otherwise wonderful, and go from there. Don’t worry if you are not super-close with the couple in question, as you can still write something fantastic. For example, writing “Much love and many blessings” is a great one, as is “Congratulations on this next step of your journey together.” If you want to combine these phrases, that’s just fine too. The point is you are blessing the couple on their special day and helping them enjoy it as much as possible. They will love your words!
If you are not the best writer in the world, feel free to put a few ideas on paper and have a written word-savvy friend or family member look them over. The person will provide the grammatical check and wording advice you need to make your written wishes snap, crackle, and pop in all the best ways.
